NAS EarlyBird®Programme

The NAS EarlyBird® Programme (NAS National Autistic Society, UK) is for families of pre-schooler’s (under 5 years) to support parents between diagnosis and school placement.

This programme will empower parents and help them facilitate their child’s social communication and appropriate behaviour within the child’s natural environment.

This is a 3 month programme in the main cities, and 6 weeks in rural areas. A maximum of 6 families will be on any one programme at one time. Parents need to commit to a 3 hour training session in the main cities and 7 hour training session in the rural areas as well as 5 home visits, and ongoing work with their child during the programme.

An information meeting will be held when there are enough families in an area, living within a two hour drive from the venue.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

Applications are accepted from parents/carers of pre-school children with a diagnosis. Two parents or carers should attend and, the family must live within two hours of travelling distance of the project.
