1 -  Armoured vechile crew in Italy wore no specialised tank suit like their counterparts in north western Europe. Like the rest of the NZ division New Zealand tank crews wore K.D or B.D as season dictated . Crew wore the black beret with a red trimmed background for the New Zealand onward badge or in the case of divisional cavalry a karki beret with green background.
2 - the rain cape of this soldier provided the rudiments of protection against wet weather but was prone to tearing, leaks and was difficult to wear. Issued in brown and later in green.
3 - In Italy most fighting was done in B.D's this lance corporal is armed with a Thompson and carries the bren gun wallet which contains the accessories for the squad bren gun. he also wears the wire wound stripe on his left sleeve.
4 - This New Zealand soldier wears the kit issued at the 9th army ski school in Syria where New Zealanders were posted for a short time in 1941 . He wears  pear cap, ski goggles, Angora shirt, white hooded smock, and trousers and carries skies and bergan type pack
5 - The other ranks greatcoat is worn here over battledress and with lemon squeezer. The collar of the coat could be worn open or closed. the coat is double breasted and covers the knees.
6 - The officers pattern greatcoat was shorter and was open collared. On the side is a slit enabling a sword to be worn when on parade
