appreciated if you could pay these fees as soon as possible and preferably by the
next club meeting . Your fees should be paid to Bryan Orsbourne or Robert Davies and

every effort to pay these fees promptly as we need the money to pay the hall rental and to
finance this newsletter. Thanks!
1998 LEAGUE SUGGESTIONS SOUGHT:
Anyone who has any suggestions for what leagues
they would like to see the club run next year should make their thoughts known to Kevin
Carberry who not only is collecting ideas but has quite a few of his own! All
serious suggestions to Kevin as soon as possible. Keep an open mind as all games are
welcome - I see a few card games being played at the club - is there enough interest in

Warhammer 40K: Bryan Orsbourne (Orks) beat Glenn Orsbourne (Imperial Guard). This battle report was kindly supplied by Glenn. Round 1 and the Imperial Guard were lucky to have any troops left on the table after devastating firepower from the Orks. The Imperial Guard initial barrage only managed to kill one gretchin and this set the trend for the rest of the game! I thought the Imperial Guard was going down big time! In a last attempt to regain some dignity two Leman Russ tanks entered on the left flank and destroyed plenty of Orks plus a couple of buggies. However a sneaky Ork with a multi-melta made short work of one Leman Russ but the Imperial Guard just managed to restore some pride in their uniforms. |
Warhammer 40K: Matene (Tyranids) beat
Michael (Dark Angels).
Tyranids killed everything that moved. Dark Angels make good dinner. Burp!!!
Warhammer 40K: Kevin, Patrick and David beat Allister
and Jarrod.
As the loyal IG troops and marines moved into position the rebels with their
traitor Wolf support rained down a barrage of death. But through this hail of fire the
loyalists charged and replied with cleansing fire killing many of the followers of the
false god. The heretics replied with a mass charge of tanks which killed many of the
emperors finest but just as the cursed one though the day was going their way the
enigmatic Eldar swooped down on them destroying any hope of victory sending the traitor
guards to flight. The harder Dog Boys stood their ground and dies for their foolishness.
Praise to the Emperor

Warhammer Fantasy Battle: Robert Davies (Chaos) beat
Peter (Lizardmen). Two reports on this game. One from the all-conquering Robert, the other from Peter with some excuses! The Chaos General craftily deployed his entire army versus part of the Lizardmen army. The Lizardmen foolhardly advanced in the first turn and the Chaos army was estatic - they could charge on their first turn! The Chaos Lord on his griffon charged across the battlefield straight into the Lizardmen General. Armed with the Sword of Destruction he nullified the Lizardmen General's majic items and quickly despatched him. The whole Lizardmen army had to test. All passed except the salamander which started to flee. The chaos flesh hounds and a unit of harpies crashed into a saurus unit killing many but they wouldn't rout. The rest of the army advanced and the bloodfest continued. In the third Chaos turn the rest of the army charged. The Lizardmen died in mass numbers, unable to stop the marauding hordes. Magic played little part - the Chaos wizard destroyed the spell Curse of Years in the Lizardmen's turn and after that the Lizardmen had no wizards in play. I, the respected mage Iymanarzol, champion of my lord, Master Djellibeybi, hath completed my task od distracting the foul Chaos horde currently spoiling these holy shores, enabling the revered venerable Lord Qtlat to have the proper time to gather a force of suitable size to crush the forces of the false gods. No doubt by now my masters have invoked the holy Gods Sotek and Chotec to wreak a terrible vengeance against the sinful infidels. Praise the Old Ones! |
