News and Rumours |

Due to technical errors the news and rumours section has been severely reduced this month (Brian got cut off from the Internet) so here is what I have found out:
Expect the new Warhammer 40,000 before Christmas at approx $200.00. If you have been into the Auckland store you will have noticed a few things are missing. The current version of 40,000 as well as all the codex's have been removed from the shelves. Also missing are all the Ork models (eeek!), so they must be in for some major changes (boho). As to format all I got told was wait and see. But they where having a good chuckle over some of the rumours that are about. Siege should be available in a couple of weeks which should be fun. On a different note if you are interested in Warhammer Ancients the latest copy of Wargamers illustrated has a Greek army list from Jervis Johnson. Lastly the Auckland shop is holding a painting contest. The classes are
| Best Single | From any Games Workshop range |
| Best Squad, Mob, Gang, ....... | |
| Best Monster | Creature on a 40mm base |
| Best Vechile | |
| Young Blood | person under 14 years |
It starts on the 1st of August and runs to the 28th at 4.00 PM. there will be prizes for 1st and 2nd so give it a go

Battle Reports please note all comments in red are from Peter please complain to him
Bryan Orsbourne (Chaos Nurgle Daemons) defeated Glen Orsbourne (Wood Elves). Gutflab Wormflesh was out on the prowl again (after getting beaten up by some two bit Goobos on the way to a tournament), looking for more victims, as it had been some time since his last victory (in other words he ran away and tried to find some easy pickings when the lizardmen got their act together). His army came across some Wood Elves who dared to stand and protect their forest home. Gutflab was having none of this nonsense and decided to teach the Wood Elves a lesson in manners. The Plaguebearers went forward, defeated Orion and his hounds and then gave a treeman the Shrivelling Pox! Ariel was twice defeated, but twice she held the escape card! Gutflab was dishing out Streams of Corruption but his Treeman victim kept resisting. The Wood Elves tried hard but even a forest that they grew in the middle of the battlefield didnt help them !.
Bryan Orsbourne (Chaos Nurgle Daemons) drew against Allister Nicholas (Dwarfs).Gutflab Wormflesh was on a high after recently thrashing some Wood Elves so he thought (trying something new!) he would give some Dwarfs a hiding as well. The Dwarfs were tough, though and had some runes so they wouldnt break easily. The battle turned into a real slugfest! Nobody gave any ground and both sides fought themselves to a standstill.
Hayden Piggott (Skaven) beat Warren Webb (Dwarfs). Haydens Vermin Lord must have felt a bit foolish when it moved into charge range of the Dwarf Anvil of Doom, ridden by Rune Lord Kragg the Grim. The Vermin Lord was toast. But the next turn saw the Anvil obliterated by Rat Ogres. The Skaven slaves and Censar Bearers minced the Dwarf slayers (naturally), while the plague monks and Ikit Claw advanced in the centre, pulling a screaming bell. The Grey Seer cast curse of the horned rat on the clansmen unit, that had the throne of power in it. Double 6s were rolled for the throne of power, turning the hard Dwarf king into a clanrat. After that, the Rat Ogres routed Bugmans rangers, and cut Bugman down as he ran. After that the battle was over. Anybody for Dwarf Stew?
Peter Colson v Ken Snow followed by Peter Colson v Damien Morley
The resplendent Lizardmen horde of revered Mage Champion Iymanarzol gain a glorious victory over the foul minions of Ken Snows Chaos warband. A scouting force of lizardmen stumbled across a most peculiar sight, a village of human origin in the middle of lustria. As they were exploring the seemingly abandoned settle a hideous Chaos warband burst into the clearing from their forest hiding places, wishing to catch the lizardmen unawares. Surprised by the shock tactics( most Chaos armies the lizardmen had faced were dumb and made no use of Lustrias forest cover, choosing to sit in a field and look stupid) the venerable Slann immediately ordered a counter-attack which in turn took the Chaos army by surprise.Four mighty Kroxigor, Skaa,Kraw,Tarbosaurus, and Massocheiros, ranged far to the Northwest of the chaos force, but the battle ended before they could have a chance to kill people. To the South-east a large contingent of Skinks attempted to beat up some Centaurs, but the Centaurs buggered off before the fun could begin. In the main battle centre a unit of spear armed saurus took up defensive positions behind some fences, while some Skink archers prepared themselves to receive the Chaos Centaurs charge and held out long enough for the Slann and his escort of Temple Guard, led by the mighty Quatl, Captain of the Guard, to counter charge, and follow through to destroy the unit and a Chaos lord. The battle was quickly over and the Chaos corpses were piled into a funeral pyre made of the human village, getting rid of both annoyances at once.As the lizardmen were returning to their home they were unfortunately attacked by some Bretonnian gits, and unfortunately for the Bretonnians, although they outnumbered the lizardmen many times over and were well rested unlike the lizardmen, the lizardmen were seriously pissed off at this point, and the Bretonnians learnt the hard way, never piss off a lizardman ( and dont say "bite me"). Peter Colsons Lizardmen gained victory once again( I promise Ill only be full of myself this month and will get back to being humble next month) and Damien Morleys Bretonnians tasted defeat for the first time against a mighty Lizardmen Army. Once upon a battlefield dreary,A lizardmen army worn and weary,Wished to cross a Lustrian praire,And return home from a day of war,Home for rest and fight no more. For rest the Lizardmen were yearning, Glory for victory they were earning,Their victims,a chaos army, burning, In their funeral pyres or, In rough bonfires on the floor. The Lizardmen found they werent alone,A Bretonnian force from Bregonne,Dared to stand and protect their home, Angry humans by the score, All in readiness for war. And so the humans were assaulting, The Lustrians looks they found revolting,And for this they were insulting, "These things are evil to the core, Beasts of evil and of war". The Bretonnian general was besought,A round of combat to be fought,A terrible vengeance would be wrought, On this human who brought war, His challenger, Quatl< let out a roar. I am executioner, judge and jury,You will fall my fury,And I will rend rend thee most surely, Your blood will stain the grassy floor, And then you will live no more. Suddenly a clash of arms,Agonised screams of shocked alarm,The human lord had come to harm, His innards lying pon the floor, An injury too serious to ignore. Silently he lay there bleeding,The Lizardmen force receding,While on him maggots were feeding, As he died upon the floor, Thats all there is, there aint no more.
Michael (Imperial guard) Vs Jarret (pointy ears). The guardsmen of the 167th catachan walked uneasily through the low lying scrub, sure that they were being watched, they had to be alert as they had very important information that could affect future battles with the eldar, this included a detailed map of eldar positions on the surrounding planet. This information could not be lost. The guard force made its way through an abandoned imperial supply depot where their ratlings spotted some eldar they were told to hastily ready their weapons and destroy the eldar ambushing party. The small elite eldar army had a mission, to assassinate the leader of the imperial guard force. They were told that this had to be done at all costs, to prevent vital information from a recent recon mission ever making its way back to the strategists of the imperium. The battle started with eldar moving steadily forward unaware of the prepared fire taps set for them by the small but stealthy snipers of the imperium, ratling scouts. Howling banshees eager to get into battle were picked off on by one with deadly accuracy not one of the ratlings shots falling short of their mark. Then one spotted a device covered in eldar runes, before he could dive for cover the device silently detonated and the entrails of three ratlings filled the trees. Determined to fulfil their their missions the ratlings held their nerve. The rumbling sound of engines was herd as the giant shape of a leman russ rolled on the battlefield challenging the eldar in a show of might. In reply there was a whir of grav engines and a delayed falcon popped up and poured shot after shot into the imperial battle tank. But sadly far the eldar no shot could penetrate the armour. The tank's gunner not prepared to risk receiving another volley of fire like that fired his mighty lascannon and vaporised the eldar weapon. The ratlings continued their rain of poisoned death and finished of the squad of aspect warriors. The eldar now funnelled between a building and the trees were shot at with battle cannon and an entire squad was destroyed by a unit of guards man. Soon the only eldar left on the battle field was the farseer who after killing most of the tanks' crew, who was killed by shot after shot of well trained lascannon. The eldar completed their mission but at a great cost, the guard also completed their mission, destroying every single on of the alien scum. PRAISE BE TO THE EMPEROR!
Michael (Orlock) Vs Andrew (Redemption)The enemy gangs were scouting for new territory, when all of a sudden two large monsters appeared in front of them. The gangs panicked and fired killing one and accidentally taking out mr. Hat, the orlock heavy. Shot after shot poured into the monster until finally with a scream of agony it died. Now the gangs realizing that they were standing shoulder to shoulder with each started to fight but to true form the redemptionists managed to miss with all their shots and after a short fire-fight were all taken out with the orlocks taking control of their new territory
Michael (I.G) Vs Manoj (Blood Angels) DRAW!An extremely bloody battle with most of both forces dead and the marines with no commander. With no commanding officer the marines decided to make a tactical withdrawal.
Jarrod (Orks) beat Ivan (The Dead Angels). "Dats it lads give em da boot."Guff yelled from the river. Bounding off with several Mad Boyz in pursuit. The five Death wing (soon to be dead wing. P.C.) stood to receive the charge"Die ooman (actually theyre Beekees, but we all make mistakes, P.C.) taste my axe" the swing caught the terminater in the side of his head. There was a sound akin to a thunder clap as the axe bit deep. Guff redied his again for the follow through, ripping across the chest eagle. The marine fell silently to the ground (aww, tha sno fun, deyz got to scream, Tuffgitt.). The shear exhileration of the kill, of the battle around him."Waaagh" Guff leapt upon the Death Wing Seargent.Again his axe cleaved through armourplas, and the battle was over. The game only lasted 2 turns but probably just as well. We both had our share of bad luck but all in all the Orks managed to shift into overdrive and came out the better.17 to UZ, 3 to dem. Jarrod (Orks) vs Gareth (Blood Angles) It was a day ta snik da oomins. Fires burned & da beekees died. By da second turn da boyz stuck it to dem. 20 of our boyz in close combat in da second turn dere was. Slowly da Ork Eavy weaponz found dere mark. Dock Sheka da mek wreaked havok and his Shock attack gun never missed but almost blew up on the first shot. Slowly the Angels met their demise in close combat. Guff swung his Poweraxe in a wide arc catching the Death company marine square in the head. Staring down at the foes body he could only voice one word, "Waaagh". Not a single marine survived that day.
Monoj Parsot (Blood Angels) vs Jarret Filmer (Panzees) The Emperor had blessed the Blood Angels definitely, Gaining the first turn. The tarantula blew up the Grav tank killing the farseer inside. On the other side of the battlefield a missile launcher blew up the Vyper jetbike. The turn followed with close combat the howling banshees fought ferociously but in the end were wiped out. The Avatar decimated a battle squad but one member survived denying victory. The rest of the guardians fell without causing any wounds in the whole game. The Avatar gained the objective (Adeptus Mechanicus plans) but at a heavy cost.A total of 9 Brother-Marines fell that day, may they be remembered.
