In November I (Peter) will be holding a tournament to raise funds for some scenery for the club to use.More details in the next newsletter.THE BATTLE FOR ARMAGEDDON Will be happening in December, and basically what it is is getting as many Ork and Imperial players together as possible, to fight a mammoth fight to see if the good guys can beat the Imperial Guard and Space Marines. The Ork and Imperial players will each choose basic armies with their commanders etc., and the Orks will be led by a Commander-In-Chief who will use Ghazgkull Thraka (and Makari) as his leader, whereas the Imperials will Be led by a Commander-In-Chief using Dante to lead his lot.It should be a hell of a lot of fun. If you are interested in taking part, talk to either me (Peter) or Jarred at the next meeting.

News and Rumours

Thanks to Michael fishing around on the net and so forth we have a bit more information to bulk up this section(thanks Mike).I’ll let Michael take-over now

As most of you know the new undead book is going to be released soon so here is the latest information on it: Contrary to popular belief the new Khemri army list will appear in the White dwarf first possibly in WD 227

• The dead snakes rumour was true, archers hit on a 5+ regardless of modifiers. They don’t get +1 to hit for a large target either
• Serpent and scorpion swarms will cost you 50 points (like skavens rats)
• Chariots stat lists will be like swarms & their points cost will be lowered

Nothing on siege, GW seem very secretive about it But here is something to think about lizardmen as the attackers with the slaan mage castin assault of stone and tempest OUCH!(Also Lord Mazdamundi’s Ruination of Cities spell,ie. Roll 2D6 for each model occupying a building structure like houses, walls, and castles, if the roll is higher than the models toughness, it is crushed by falling masonry and is removed from play, ha ha ha ho ho-Peter.)

Ken Snow(Turks) vs Peter Colson(Europeans) Both sides had to march to the battlefield so cavalry and horse artillery arrived first.European cavalry took the town but their supporting horse artillery were destroyed by massed Turkish cavalry. At this stage the infantry arrived and the Turkish cavalry were routed and fell back to join their infantry. The European general (that would be me, Peter.) sent his artillery to the west of the village and his infantry to the east, however Turkish infantry concealed behind the village charged the guns and routed the crew. On the east the European infantry fared well against superior numbers of Turkish infantry and cavalry but eventually casualties on both sides made it impossible to attack and the battle became a stalemate.My 2 cents by Peter C. Full credit must go to Ken for creating an interesting and entertaining scenario, I hope he has more where that came from, and make sure you try his scenario out if you have the chance,you wont be disappointed.

Jarred vs Manoj Orks meet the Blood Angels on the plains of Taidron. The sky blackened, fires burned and the grassy plains turned red with human blood."Deff to da ‘Oomans argh!" Guff bellowed over the sounds of heavy gun fire. Raising his plasma gun he squeezed the trigger."Say’z ‘allow to ya emperor!".As darkness fell the Orks fed well."Oi Mufdrak, giz me dat plate will ya" Mufdrak shuffled in his seat and leisurly passed him a golden face mask. Flipping it over in his hands Guff remembered fighting the owner before. Throwing the golden mask over his shoulder. Leadfoot growled with rage kicking the body at his feet."Lazaris not here" guff’s shoulders sagged."Don’t worry boss, we find him one day" Leadfoot slumped down beside Guff."We will follow him" Leadfoot announced."But da boy’z earned the right for a bit of some stompin" Guff got to his feet "me tell da ladz" walking away Guff’s banner jingled in the wind "Taidron ours now. Lazris when we find you coward we show you me axe blade". In the light of the setting sun Guff could clearly see the approach of the rest of the Waagh. Taidron was indeed the Orks’. The pitiful survivors from the destruction of Baal had been brought to battle. Despite a brave stand the Orks overwhelmed and slew them. Leaving several worlds burning, Taidron being the newest planet to fall.25 Uz, 5 Dem.

Bryan Orsbourne (Chaos Nurgle Daemons) defeated Allister Nicholas (Empire). Gutflab Wormflesh was back in action. Nurgle’s most favoured Greater Daemon (atleast according to him) took his victory over the puny Empire in his stride as he brushed the Reiksguard Knights aside with a Rancid Visitation. An empire hippogriff thought it could take Gutflab on and win but Gutflab just swotted the flying menace (annoyance more like it. Peter) and carried on his way. Another great Nurgle victory! Peter C.(Lizardmen) beat Andrew B.(Nurgle Daemons). At last, revende against the unwashed masses.Nurgles most favoured Greater Daemon was having a very bad day, but to his credit, he was one of the precious few in the Nurgle army who managed to inflict any casualties.Early on in the battle the Beastman shaman was summoned away from the battle to do the bidding of his pestulant master. The skinks hid in the forest, taking pot shots at any of the decaying daemons who came into range, for everyone knows skinks have great difficulty in beating up infants. The foolhardy daemons advanced to within charge range of most of the lizardmen force. A contingent of saurus charged a retinue of beastmen who had devoted their souls to the foulness of Nurgle, and though the children of chaos were gifted, they could not stand before the strong right arm of the lizardmen military.Nurgle, being done with his shaman slave, returned the beastman to the battle just in time to be destroyed with the rest of its retinue.The revolting Plaguebearers were cut down faster than their master could resurect them, and were utturly destroyed. A group of Minotaurs attempting to out-flank the lizardmen battle lines were slain by Master Djellibeybi’s sorcerous ways. All that was left standing was a Greater Daemon by the name of Gutflab Wormflesh, who growled to himself "bugger this", and vanished.Another great Nurgle defeat!.

Kevin Carberry (Goblins Vs Skaven) x 2   Well in the morning Orslag The Odiforus Noble Goblin Warlord with a little help from some orks took on a trapped bunch of Skaven and Dwarfs. As we were doing them over some foul undead appeared  and caused a few minor problems on the left flank. Later that day Orslag, now deserted by the cowardly orks found himself facing another large horde of Skaven but using his superiour intellect and cunning he ground them into the dust. At least thats the way he remembered it.
