CLUB FEES FOR 1999:

Still a few people who haven’t paid their fees for 1999 - please hurry up. Those who haven’t yet paid (you know who you are, and so do I !) then make sure you do pay at this meeting or don’t expect to play. We need the money to pay for the Church Hall - if you don’t want to contribute your fees then don’t bother coming.

NECROMUNDA CAMPAIGN:

The Necromunda campaign I was planning is officially being dropped due to too much work and lack of interest. -Arbitrator Karlson.

THE BATTLE OF ARMAGEDDON

The history books have been re-written and Armageddon has fallen, WAAAGH GHAZGKULL (and Makari). Over all it was a great day, and it looked like everyone, with the possible exception of Kevin and the doomed Nazdreg, wuss that he is,(there will be a reckoning Colson - KC) had a really great time. I have taken the liberty of preparing a battle report of the exploits of the intrepid warboss Tuffgitt Badskaga on his debut 3rd ed. Club game, a wholly successful venture if I do type so myself.

It woz a good day, sunny an’ everyfing, an’ da damned chirpy beetlez woodn’t shut up. Da boss woz told dat da reinforsmints bound for da Skletus Riva’ ad been seen, so da boss, in his usual karizmatik manner, stood up to give da ladz a few wordz of inspiration. "Orright ladz" bellowed Tuffgitt, "lets show dem stinkin’ beakies wot us boyz are made of", den bigboss Noblobba, whos not quite as bright as da uvva ladz, sed "wot? Like guts an’ intestins an’ stuff?", so Tuffgitt ‘ad to ‘splain to him an’ sez "no, I mean we’z gonna treat da beakies to a bit ov boot levva, an’ show ‘em how ‘ard orks iz!", "Oh I see" Noblobba lied, but ‘e woz ‘appy dat ‘e woz gonna get ta bash da beakies wifout ‘aving ta cut his belly open. "Orright" Tuffgitt continued, "Noblobba, you take sum of da ladz over dere ta beat up da beakies wiff big gunz, I’ll take da rest over here ta fump da wunz on bikes an’ da fat wunz. I feel like I’m fergettin’ sumfing.", an Tuffgitt’s personal grot assistant Binky whispered in his ear, an’ den Tuffgitt sed "dats rite, WAAAAAAAGHH!!!". Wiff dat da boyz rejowi- reji- showed dey woz really happy.

Noblobba’s boyz advansed bravely behind da grots, while da buggies sped ‘round dem firin’ dere rokkits at da beakies, an’ when da beakies got hit dey got splatted good’n’proppa. Meanwhile da boss, in an act of daring and bravery, marched towards da Imperial gits in da front of da rest of iz army, wanting to snik da beakies as soon as he could. On Tuffgitt’s side da grots, bein’ a bit naff and weedy, ran away from da pretend beakies oo kall demselves ‘scouts’ ( Blood Axe, (or thanks to G.W., Blood Choppa) Kommandoz are better), an’ da beakies who fink dey kan ride bikes good. After seein’ da grots die, and laughing unkontrollably, Tuffgitt’s Goff boyz decided to give da biker beakies a good kickin’, seein as Tuffgitt an’ ‘is Nobz woz menacing da chaplain. While da Goffs woz stompin’ da bikerz dey decided ta fump da scouts for dere trubilz. After dey ‘ad snikked da ‘umies wif dere axes an’ bolt pistols dey used dere pistols to shoot da landspeeder an’ though it didn’t do nuffin it wo good fer a laugh. While all dis woz happening Tuffgitt, ‘iz nobz, and da kult of speed bikers woz showin da taktical marines how itz dun. Da bikes attacked ten of da taktikal marines and opened up wiff sum ded good Orky DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA, and da oomans who didn’t die there ran away, ded funny init!. As da nobz an da terminaterz woz eyin’ each uvva up, Tuffgitt’s faithful grot assisstant, Binky, picked up a stone an’ frew it at da stoopid marine in da fat armour. It hit him in da hed, an when he fell down wiff blood trickling out of a crack the stone made in ‘is helmet we just ‘ad ta laugh. After Tuffgitt had beat up da wussy terminaterz, a chaplain, and ‘is bodyguard, ‘e headed off to watch Noblobba and his mob beat up da beakies supreme commander, and da last remaining warbike, after finishing da taktikal beakies, turned to face da land-speeder which ‘ad killed ‘is buddies. ‘Evil’ Kaneevil, da last biker, raised ‘is lucky shotgun, took aim, an’ fired at dat blasted ‘speeder. The shell flew with unswerving accuracy towards the ‘speeder, and as it hit, the shell exploded in a shower of shrapnel as buckshot ricocheted around the cockpit, and by chance a piece of metal managed to hit the big red OFF button on the pilots power armour. And they all came tumbling down. After the last of the surviving space marines were finished off, and the blood had been cleaned off, da boyz marched off towards Hades Hive with some new red shoulder-pads.

Battlefleet Gothic, the new spaceship game, is scheduled for release in May. Looks pretty exciting from the preview in a recent White Dwarf.

Next on the Codex list for WH40K3 are Dark Angels, followed by Orks and then probably Space Wolves (of which there was a taster in the latest White Dwarf).

Fantasy Battle has the new Undead Book for the "wet" Undead (i.e. Sylvania) due out in May. It will include various bloodlines for Vampire Counts as well as some new Undead troop types such as banshees.

BULGARIAN ELECTRONICS WARGAME CAMPAIGN:

The electronics campaign will be having its first battles at the March meeting as the main Turkish army (controlled by Kevin) closes in on an isolated Russian corps under Bryan’s control. Both sides have been marching hard as the Russians try to close up and the Turks try to encircle them. Expect some fast and furious battles as Bryan attempts to avoid destruction south of the Danube, while Kevin is still in the dark (when isn’t he in the dark! - Ed) as to the location of the main European army so he cannot afford to expend his whole force on the destruction of this one corps.

FANTASY ELECTRONICS WARGAMING:

Ken Snow will be playing Robert Groom in a couple of experimental fantasy games using the electronics wargame system. In addition to the usual regiments and artillery there will be sorcerors, flying carpets, dragons and other monsters!
