That's just over a dollar a game plus you get this newsletter, friendly company, meet nice people and you know you can always win against Bryan or Ken anytime you feel like it! What more could you want for your membership fee?!!!  Please pay your fees promptly because we need to pay the Church for the use of their hall for another year. Fees should be paid to Bryan Orsbourne. Thanks.

Diplomacy Campaign Report. by Ken Snow

Ivan is holding Turnopol with his guard , Heavy Artillery and line infantry regiment.
Bryan is at Semarang with his Guard
Kevin is holding Anamur with Heavy Artillery, and his guard is besieging Borujerd which is expected to surrender mid way through next month. His heavy cavalry is at Semarang.
Robert is holding Karlovat with his guard while his heavy artillery are at Cegled and his heavy cavalry are at Brichany
Micheal and Peter have both landed at Slutsk
Andrews Guard are besieging Fedows which is expected to surrender mid way through next month. He has line infantry at Stepanakert
Arthurs Guard are besieging Al Manshah. He has line infantry at Stepanakert
Ken is holding Bacau with heavy artillery and is besieging Martin with his Guard and Focsani with his heavy cavalry

Encounters

Bryan and Kevin are contesting Semarang  which is almost ready to surrender. Bryan is expected to win any engagement, but may not be able to drive off Kevins Heavy Cavalry. Stepanakert is divided between Andrew and Arthur, who both maintaining a garrison of a line regiment (in blue Berets ?) in the city. Peter and Michael appear to have launched a joint occupation of Slutsk. I don't know what they expect to find there but as teenagers they will probably be disappointed.

Next Month

Peter and Michael will be able to raise one regiment each and make a full move. Kevin will have to decide what to do with his heavy cavalry at Semarang. It can fight, or withdraw and make a full move. Several sieges will be completed during the month this will enable players to raise new regiments.

Battle Reports

Ken Snow (Russian) vs Michael Early (French) - Eleclectronic Napoleonic - This was fought as two attack/defense games with the defender having having two infantry strong points (stone buildings ) a light artillery battery and a line infantry regiment, while the attacker had guard, line infantry, light artillery and three cavalry regiments. In both cases the attacker won without any serious losses.

Peter Colson (French) vs Ivan Soo (Russian) - Eleclectronic Napoleonic - This was fought between two similar armies. At the eastern end of the battlefield both sides deployed entrenched heavy artillery, light artillery, Strongpoints, and heavy cavalry, Peter also deployed his guard in this area. On the Western flank both sides deployed line infantry with heavy and light cavalry, Ivan also had his guard here. In the east the battle ground to a stalemate as both sides were battered by the others artillery, especially peters Guard. By contrast the battle in the west was very fast moving with attacks and counter attacks flying back and forth across the table. In the end Ivans superior numbers overwhelmed the French and they where driven from the field. This gave Ivan the change to out flank Peters Heavy Artillery and he launched an attack on an infantry strongpoint which fell giving him access to the rear of the French artillery, and from there there was nothing Peter could co to avoid defeat.

Those of you involved in the diplomacy campaign might want to consider this result especially the fact that Heavy artillery can be easily out flanked.

Kevin Carberry (Germans) Beat Bryan Osbourne ( British ) -This was Bryan's first game of Rapid Fire and my first encounter of British forces. Bryan was the attacked and my men had to hold a village. Bryan's main force, 3 Churchill's and a infantry battalion,  came down the western flank straight for the village with a lone Sherman firefly creeping down the eastern side. My forces an Infantry Battalion  with two anti-tanks companies in support was setup in ambush, and Bryan quickly learned that you don't use infantry in trucks like space marines in rhinos. I found out that Churchill's have very thick armor. as Bryan advanced my men ran from trees to hedge, to wall firing all the away as they pulled back in the face of Bryan's armored might. Final Bryan's infantry failed a moral test just as his tanks where going to enter the village, and Bryan conceded. The highlight from me was Bryan's inability to finish on my Nashorn with his Firefly  and the final destruction of his Sherman by the afore mentioned Nashorn. " anything but a 1 Bryan, anything but a 1"

Kevin Carberry (Germans) Vs Arthur Young ( Russian ) -This was a meeting engagement between a 1943 German  and a Russian Shearhead. The Russian got the drop on the Germans and made good initial gains down the battlefield but the Germans manage to gain control of the Village in the West. From there in a battle that lasted ALL afternoon and many turns the Germans managed to advance 2 feet down the table. and the Russians clear but not control the village.so a draw was called.
