Battle Reports
Manoj Prasot (Dark Elves) beat Peter Colson (Empire) Peters version -The horror! The horror!! oh the humanity, the horror !!! Manoj's version - To elaborate more on Peters demise the story goes.... Both sides deployed, in the process the Dark Elf general Garnish found a pressing need to change his under garments seeing a 50 man plus regiment of halbrediers and 30 crossbowmen arrayed in a single line infront of 3 great cannons. Garnish seeing this decided to hold the advance and let the enemy scum come to him, while personally leading the cold one knights around the flank. As the Halbrediers advanced they lost more than 2/3 of there unit to Arnzipals black horror thanks to the undistinguished sorcerer Sidi Salad. The empire general tried to seek revenge but failed as he came up short. The sorcerer champion, the warriors, corsairs, and witch elves all charged and while the halbreders put up a valiant fight they lost. The General was killed by an assassin and the unit fled leading the pursuers into the wizard who somehow "escaped". With the general death the crossbowmen and several cannon crews fled. although to the empires credit a parting shoot from one of the cannons did flatten the sorcerer.
Peter Colson (Empire) Vs Ken Snow(Dogs of War) Both where satisfied to call this a draw, but in truth the maggots and carrion birds were the true victors this day. the shooting of the dogs of war was horrendously effective, neutralizing the empire big guns and reducing the empire infantry to a mere fraction of it's former glory, but the infantry went on to prove that shooting is no match for well lead infantry in a fair fight. Many men fell, a dragon lost his master, and a hellblaster self destructed. Both sides where massacred there is truly no winner in war.
Ken Snow(Dogs of War) Vs Peter Colson (Empire) A bit of a mutual massacre which went something like this - kens dragon eats peters crossbowmen - peters great guns wound (but not kill) Ken's dragon and killing the rider - Ken's crossbowmen shoot down peters artillery crew - Peters Halbreders (50 strong) cross the battlefield taking 75% casualties from ken's crossbowmen - one unit of Ken's crossbowmen is routed, pursued and wiped out by Peters halbreders - Duel between the opposing generals which Peters wins, although Ken's general survives - we both give up and call it a draw with both sides looking very sick.
Ken Snow(French) Vs Andrew Salisbury (Russian) This was a battle between matched forces with both sides having Guard, Line Infantry, a Heavy Artillery Redoubt, Light artillery, an Infantry Strongpoint, Light Cavalry and two Heavy Cavalry Regiments. The centre of the battle field was dominated by artillery so both sides attempted outflanking maneuvers. At the eastern end the French launched an attract with Guard, Light and Heavy Cavalry which was initially successful. However the Russians rallied beside a strong point and the combined effect of fire from the strongpoint and counterattacks from the Cossacks and the hussars finally repulsed the attack. At the western end the Russians launched an infantry and heavy cavalry attack against the French Redoubt, but as the flank of the redoubt was protected by a river, the final assault had to be frontal, and despite some success against the French line infantry the Russians where unable to storm the French redoubt. the result was something of a stalemate with neither side making progress against the others defenses
a couple from last month
Andrew Salisbury Beat Bryan Osbourne Well, was I more than surprised. First, I expected to be coming across a Vampire Count army because of Bryan's current run with them, but coming across an Orc and Goblin army I was quite pleasantly surprised. I love playing the greenskins, they so much fun. This what I was thinking BEFORE he set 6 chariots on the table... not to mention one beefy unit of Savage Orc Bear boys and more little lads than I care to think about. To cut a long story short, and it was a close shave, I used psychology to my advantage, the gobbos taking exception to large amounts of screaming elves frothing at the mouth. Only two chariots got into battle, causing some damage, but not quite enough and the rest ran away under the shadow of a Witch Elf hero avec Pegasus. The giant fell over, most of the other things ran away, but the hefty savage orcs stayed behind so that the general with the Fantasy equivalent of terminator armour could go toe to toe with the aforementioned lady, and win. I enjoyed it immensely. Oh, and thank god there wasn't any fanatics.
Andrew Salisbury Beat Manoj -Dark Elves versus Dark Elves. Small points battle that didn't take long. To sum up, lots of his things died, and I lost a Repeater Bolt Thrower to a nifty Dark Elf Sorcerer. One thing I would like to say... YOU DIDNT TAKE ENOUGH WITCH ELVES. 'Nuff said.
