Booking Games

Each month we organise the next month's games during the day. This usually happens between the Morning and Afternoon sessions when I, your Club Secretary (I prefer P.A. but the rest of the club executives dont appreciate my secretarial uniform of a tight black skirt - I do so have nice legs) will be going round trying to fill in slots for the next month. Now the rules are that fully paid members will be given first preference - we have limited space and those members who have paid for the year will have priority. At the meeting you can organise games amongst yourselves and the tell me or simply tell me what you want to play and I'll try and find an opponent for you. If you are not at the club meeting and you want to organise a game for the next meeting you can contact me by email at arthur.young@whitcoulls.co.nz, and I will see what I can do. Remember - if you cannot make it to a meeting and you have games booked, contact Kevin as soon as possible - we need to be able to find games for your opponents. Now if you have a game booked then you will get a table, if you have not organised a game with me then you will have to make do with whatever is spare (if there is anything spare).

Arthur

The Forum

Straight into it...
Rubbish
No complaints here, most of you found the rubbish bag I brought along last month, keep this up and I can quit moaning on ad nauseum about it, which please ME a great deal.

MORDHEIM CAMPAIGN
The Mordheim Campaign kicks off this month (March).
There will be some changes to the rules, due to the unique nature of the progression of this campaign
Firstly - Only games that actually take place at the Games Club count for the purposes for this campaign and the warbands involved in them. At the March meeting, we all start with fresh warbands.
After each game, the Campaign Umpire (Mr. Barry Cavanagh mordheimnutta@hotmail.com) requires that you write up the results, and all changes to the warband, so he can keep track of it. Later on, we may be making up some pretty graphs to map the success of each warband throughout this campaign, and once the Club Points Ladder system is in place, I may twist the other Club Officials' arms in such a way as to make the successes in this campaign relevant to our points system...
These write-ups must include all Serious Injuries each hero sustained, how many Henchmen buggered off/died, how much experience each member of the warband gained, new members, new equipment, etc. Barry will be able to explain better what he wants.
The standard Income chart is used to determine how much money you make and the costs of living. However, you will have a chosen settlement to live in, and you will also be required to choose an inn or some such establishment for your warband to sleep in. These factors may alter your income (if you pick a really cheap place to stay, when it comes to earning your income for Wyrdstone you will subtract a set number from your Warband Size, which may lead to earning more money for your Wyrdstone, or for an expensive place, you may add more to your Warband Size on the income chart, which could mean you earn less) and there may be additional bonuses and drawbacks, and hidden advantages for you to explore. And be warned, if people abuse the cheap accomodations, a Warband Mutiny Rule will be put in place to add a risk to living in the cold and drafty inns that serve alcaholic urine and dirt for dinner and drinks.
These you will choose at the March meeting before play begins.
Trading also differs.
There will be a list of the stores at your settlement, and after a game, you can visit as many stores as you have heroes (Heroes that can visit a store reasonably, a Possessed may have some difficulty...) and an additional one if you have Henchmen capable of trading also (Ghouls and Zombies find it difficult so therefore don't count)
The items available at each store will be determined by Barry and I, and be warned, at the start, life is going to be tough, the supply of necessary products is drastically cut with several raids on the main Caravan Route.
Barry and I are still considering whether or not to put a Once Per Month limit on searching for Rare Items due to the fact that it takes a bit of time to track these down
The Critical Hit Chart has been modified to
1-3 Two Wounds, save as normal
4-5 Two Wounds, no save
6 Two Wounds, no saves, and +2 to your Injury Roll
Hired Swords will NOT be readily available.
Warbands wishing to find a Hired Sword must place an advertisement in the Mordheim Newsletter that Barry may be running, and he will decide when and if any response to the advertisement is made. Some Hired Swords will be placing their own advertisements to have their services sold to the highest bidder
There WILL be a Gossip system starting in April which will be a very interesting part of the campaign I feel
Arthurs' 40K Campaign
Leaving this to Arthur to notify you about, because really, I don't know diddly about it (I know so little about a lot of things I should pull a Sean Combs can start calling myself P. Diddly)
BUT, I know it's a fairly laid-back method of running a campaign, which is the best way, and it should be a whole heap of fun. I may even drag the infamous Tuffgitt Badskaga, scourge of beekees everywhere, out of retirement... be afraid, be very afraid. Or don't be, doesn't really matter as either way, most of his opposition simply ends up dead. Very dead.
Your battles will beging to mean something, and this will encompass almost every conceivable game system if we give it a go
I'll be very interested in taking an active roll in things, and I'm sure Arthur will be glad of any and all feedback he receives
Which brings me nicely to my next point...
HIVEWORLD!
Now Arthur has given me free reign to incorporate something a little... different, into his campaign.
Basically, I have poetic license to create a world for a Necromunda spin-off, and I will be calling this...
HIVE WORLD!
It will feature a desperate struggle for survival in the ruins of a Hive world immediately following the cataclysmic destruction as an insurgent Genestealer Cult frantically struggled with an Imperial rulership, bringing about the complete destruction of both factions.
The remnants, scattered groups and squads of survivors must live long enough for liberation.
This will not be happening for a while yet, as I need to track down the Necromunda Sourcebook Specialist Games are selling (with all the rules and fancy add-on bits) and then come up with a system conversion to suit the background and setting
As it's still in the formative stages, this is the best time for you lot to influence my decisions, and I appreciate any contributions
Feel free to talk to me when and werever you see me, or e-mail me suggestions at colson@xtra.co.nz
NATcon
Easter Weekend, Friday the 18th to Sunday the 20th, at the Browns Bay Recreation Center on Bute Road in Browns Bay
http://natcon03.cjb.net/
This is one of the leading Gaming conventions in the country (well, it's probably THE gaming convention of New Zealand, considering it's the National Wargaming Convention...) and it would be good to get some of our lads into the thick of it.
I've set myself the challenge of converting and painting up my 2000point Empire Army for the Fantasy tournament, and it would be good to see some more of our people there
I'm not sure if we'll be able to put forward an Official Club Team, as we need 4 people to play in at least three different categories (from 15mm and 25mm DBM, Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000, Flames of War, Rapid Fire if Kevin gets enough support for it, 15mm DBR, 15mm Napoleonics, and 1/300th WRG Moderns)
If people have difficulties in attending, but still want to, feel free to e-mail me (my address is in the section just above) and I'll ask around, see what I can sort out to fix your problems
Cheers
-Peter
